Reports On ISIS Are Being Altered By Higher Ups To Make Things Appear Rosy

“Stalinist” officials cooking the intel to make it seem like US is winning terror war, by Steve Watson | Infowars.com | September 10, 2015

Fifty operatives working with CENTCOM, the US Military’s intelligence arm, have charged that their assessments of the fight against ISIS and Al Qaeda are being altered by senior officials in order to fit with the Obama administrations claims that the US is winning the war on terror.

The explosive charges are revealed in a report out of The Daily Beast, which details how scores of spies have complained that intelligence is being intentionally manipulated to make it seem that the terror groups are weaker than they really are.

The report details how back in July two senior analysts at CENTCOM wrote to the Defense Department inspector general noting that reports, which are used to brief senior government officials including the president, were inappropriately altered.

Around 50 intelligence analysts have backed up the claim, according to the report, charging that CENTCOM’s upper echelons are politicizing the intelligence reports.

Essentially, the spies suggest that in a display of doublethink, the intelligence is literally being re-written to downplay the threat of ISIS, as if that makes it a reality.

One defense official has described the situation as a “cancer within the senior level of the intelligence command,” while others have described the working environment at CENTCOM as “Stalinist”.

The analysts, who operate under the umbrella of the Defense Intelligence Agency, have said that they are speaking out as part of a “revolt” in CENTCOM, noting that the intelligence manipulation goes all the way up to the director of intelligence and his deputy.

The Daily Beast notes that the re-writing of intelligence to fit a public narrative mirrors the “cherry-picked intelligence about Iraq’s supposed weapons program in 2002 and 2003.”

Another defense official speaking on anonymity said that those who are speaking out now are “frustrated because they didn’t do the right thing then” and speak up about their doubts on Iraq’s weapons program.

The analysts have complained that their assessments on ISIS and al Nusra, the Syrian branch of Al Qaeda, have had negative sections completely removed.
